I Uncovered A Number Of Interesting Suggestions For A Budget Vacation Recently!

November 25, 2009

All work and no vacation is not good, even in a recession. I spent some time doing research to see if I can arrange a nice trip while saving money in the process. There are a bunch of major travel websites offering nice travel deals to a lot of destinations.

The choice of travel website should not only include finding the lowest price for car, hotel and air travel, you also want a company with a reputation for arranging a vacation without problems.  Then I was thinking about where to go where it’s easy to find good prices on air travel or where I can drive my car. Southern California certainly fits that description.

One website I found with some great information on Southern California is the SoCal Vacation Guru site.  It presently places most of its attention on Los Angeles and Orange County, with a modest but growing emphasis on San Diego County and San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. For local insight and wisdom about Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, beaches, shopping, dining and other activities, the SoCal Vacation Guru is a great source.

I mentioned above just a couple of the seven major theme parks in Southern California, the complete list being Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, Knott’s, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, SeaWorld and Legoland. Of course visiting all of those would not be particularly cheap, but you could fit a lot of vacation fun into a short period of time. Also, you might save on airfare and hotel reservations as it looks like the economy has a lot of hotels really wanting our business, unfortunately.

Theme parks are offering some discounts, and the prices might be a bit lower at museums and other activities as well. Rather than flying to your vacation destination, you may find that, even with the crazy behavior of gasoline prices recently, you can save money by driving to Southern California this year.
